CASA of Carson City supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and have the opportunity to thrive.

CASA of Douglas County’s mission is to advocate for the best interests of children involved in the courts, primarily those who are the victims of abuse and neglect. In addition, CASA trains and supports community volunteers who provide quality advocacy to help assure each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.

CASA of Northeastern Nevada advocates for the best interests of abused, abandoned, and neglected children within the court system. Trained CASA volunteers investigate and work with key agencies, legal counsel and community resources to provide representation for the children during court proceedings.

Committee to Aid Abused Women strives to offer dignity and respect to victims of domestic violence through safe, quality services. Of the multitude of services it offers, Committee to Aid Abused Women uses NLF funding to provide free, bi-lingual advocacy and legally-related services to victims of domestic violence and stalking seeking protection and related orders in Washoe County.

Douglas County Special Advocates for the Elderly is a program to support the Ninth Judicial District Court’s objective of maximizing the safety, dignity, and independence of the elderly or disabled when determining the need for guardianship or the continuation of guardianship.

Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Carson and Rural Elder Law Program’s mission is to provide pro bono legal services to low-income seniors who are otherwise unable to access or afford legal assistance. This includes guardianships, powers of attorney, wills and assistance with estate and probate issues, as well as help with Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid problems.

State Support for Legal Service Providers is a special project that includes legislative and administrative advocacy, training to program staff, updates on legal developments, coalition building, a statewide newsletter, and technical support to the following organizations: Las Vegas Senior Law Project, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, Nevada Legal Services, Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevada, Washoe County Senior Law Project, and Washoe Legal Services.
