Nevada Law Foundation Grantees
The Nevada Law Foundation exists to gain equal access to justice for those who need it most. It is NLF’s goal to ensure that all Nevadans have equal access to justice, regardless of income or social status. The NLF serves the legal needs of vulnerable Nevadans through administration and funding of organizations that provide legal support and education to Nevadans in need.
NLF funding helps a variety of Nevada’s citizens, including children in need of protection and advocacy, victims of domestic violence, the elderly, and citizens living in poverty who face a wide range of civil legal issues. In 2009, NLF granted over $1 million to 14 organizations, and in 2010, $1.6 million to 18 organizations. In both 2009 and 2010, the majority of NLF funding was awarded to regional Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) programs, Legal Aid organizations assisting low-income clients with legal issues, and organizations providing legal assistance to senior citizens. The work of these organizations is representative of the valuable services IOLTA revenues support.
