About the organization

The Nevada Law Foundation was founded in 1983 to address the significant need for funding of legal services to the poor and legally disadvantaged in Nevada. As a result, Supreme Court Rules were adopted to allow interest to be earned on lawyer’s trust accounts and to allow the funds to be utilized for the needs of the less fortunate members of our society.
The Mission of the Foundation is to provide funding for the legally disadvantaged, to victims of domestic violence, to children protected by or in need of protection by the juvenile court or for other law-related education programs.
Since its inception, the Foundation has distributed more than $5 million in the form of direct grants to programs throughout the state.
The good work of the Foundation benefits both the community and the legal profession. Each time a person receives vital legal services funded by the Foundation, the community, and its confidence in the legal profession, is strengthened.
Every day, hundreds of dedicated lawyers and legal staff make justice come alive for those who might otherwise be forgotten. With the dedication of our volunteers, and the generosity of our supporters, the Nevada Law Foundation is able to carry out its mission of developing and maintaining programs the provide legal-related services to the poor; to victims of domestic violence; and for children protected by, or in need of protection by, the juvenile court.
